Local island produce and seafood, reimagined through a Pan-Asian lens.
The Smoking Lobster Group begun with Smoking Lobster in Ventnor in 2017. Chef Giancarlo "GC" Giancovich's Pan-Asian creations WOWED the Island, against a backdrop of breath-taking beachfront views. In 2020, GC and his sister, Cinz, introduced Little Sister, Drunken Lobster, a Japanese-inspired Izakaya bar which show cases excellent cocktails and Japanese Robata Dishes in a tapas style of dining. During the pandemic, we worked on the Big Sister, Smoking Lobster Cowes, earning top accolades in the famous Yachtsman’s town.
The Asian influence stems from the owners, brother and sister GC and Cinzia who’s father is Chinese and Italian. Both of them grew up on the Island as avid fishermen and throughout the world, particularly Asia, demonstrating their lifelong enthusiasm for the sector.
Food, Drink and socialising is their passion which shines through in all of their restaurants.
Situated on the picturesque Ventnor Esplanade, Smoking Lobster offers customers more than just a meal; it offers an experience. The restaurant boasts panoramic views of Ventnor's stunning beach, which is widely regarded as one of the island's finest. With the backdrop of the shimmering sea, diners can enjoy dishes that celebrate the island's best local produce, reimagined through a Pan-Asian lens.
Chef Jake Storey leads the culinary team at Foresters Hall, where the menu highlights Mediterranean influences and seasonal ingredients, with an emphasis on locally sourced seafood and freshly made pasta. Both hotel residents and non-residents can enjoy lunch and dinner in the restaurant, bar, and on the terrace.
The success of Smoking Lobster Ventnor was undeniable, and in May 2021, the dynamic team decided to share their authentic culinary experience with Cowes High Street. Smoking Lobster Cowes quickly became a beloved dining destination in its own right, faithfully carrying forward the excellence established at the Ventnor restaurant.
